History

In 1992, what started as Young County Family Resource Center, is now Virginia’s House – A Family Resource Center, was established as a Children’s Advocacy Center by a group of concerned community leaders who saw the problematic cycle of violence within families and wanted to be a part of the solution to see it end.

Virginia’s House has become an umbrella organization that contains four individual child-focused programs which include: Children’s Advocacy Center, CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocate, Mentor/Prevention Programs, and Crime Victims Assistance.

Virginia’s House strives to help children and their families who suffer from all types of abuse, as well as help children in situations of risk. Virginia’s House is a non-profit, 501-C3, located in Graham, Texas. Our service area covers Young, Stephens and Throckmorton Counties.  Dr. Goodall’s House, a satellite office in Breckenridge, was opened in 2009 to better serve Stephens County. Virginia’s House is the only agency in a multi-county region which provides children’s advocacy services. Courtesy services to surrounding counties that do not have an advocacy center may request services from Virginia’s House.
